
The home straight!
Unfortunately, La Pau du Lyon had to leave their car at Bramsche because of a problem with one the valves, but Cedric, in the organisers’ car, got them all safely home.
The participants used the penultimate checkpoint in Brussels to take a short break and try Belgium’s most famous dish, mussels and chips, and some delicious waffles. Of course, everyone also went off to photograph the famous Manneken-Pis statue, in the middle of the city.

The participants were able to have a slightly more leisurely start this morning, as the day’s stage involved “only” five hours’ driving, plus a, 45-minute ferry crossing to leave Scandinavia.
The sky was blue and the sea flat calm, so everyone could relax, unlike the last little ferry ride!
This was a true transition stage in that it was mostly spent on motorways, in contrast to the rest of the Rally.

Today’s objective for our participants is a checkpoint at the “foot” of the Little Mermaid. This small bronze statue (1.25 metres high and 175 kg, nevertheless!), which sits on a rock in Copenhagen harbour, has become the city’s emblem and a major tourist attraction.
